Meet Jennifer Byrne.
Jennifer Byrne founded The Tropical Travelers in 2001 after beginning her career in travel in 1994.
More than three decades later, she still believes the same thing: the internet can show you where you could stay. Experience tells you where you should stay.
Jennifer and her team travel constantly, stay in the hotels they recommend, meet the people behind them and build relationships around the world. That knowledge is shared across the agency, giving clients access to something no booking engine can replicate: people who know the difference.
Today, The Tropical Travelers is a nationally recognized luxury travel agency with a community of more than 400,000 travelers following its advice, reviews and firsthand experiences across social media.

We know what the pictures don’t show.
The room category worth paying for. The resort that’s fantastic for families but wrong for a honeymoon. The beautiful hotel that’s nowhere near the action. The property everyone is talking about that may not actually be right for you.
We work for the traveler, not the hotel.
A hotel can only sell you itself. We compare destinations, resorts and experiences objectively, and we tell you when another choice makes more sense.

We work directly with hotels, resort groups and travel partners around the world. We share the details and preferences that matter before you arrive, and we advocate for you when it counts.
You may have more access than you realize.
Through our preferred relationships and Virtuoso affiliation, eligible bookings may include preferred rates, amenities and added benefits. We never promise what a hotel ultimately controls, but we know where the opportunities are and how to position you for them.
Why wouldn’t I just book direct?
Because booking direct doesn’t necessarily mean booking better.
For many hotel reservations, the hotel compensates the specialist through commission. Working with a specialist does not automatically mean paying a higher rate. In many cases we can access the same rate, preferred pricing or additional value through our hotel relationships.
The difference is that when you book with us, you have someone on your side who knows what you’re buying before you buy it.
What does it cost to work with you?
For a tropical vacation, nothing. Hotels and resorts pay our commission, so our planning is built into the trip, not added to it. Destination weddings start with a $500 deposit, and that deposit goes toward your wedding. For custom itineraries beyond a single resort stay, we offer three planning packages: Roam Ready at $250, Curated at $350 and Bespoke at $750. Planning fees are non-refundable.
