Common Questions
Did you know that a destination wedding can cost almost HALF of what the average person would spend on a traditional wedding? If you’ve been doing any wedding planning, you’ve already discovered all the little expenses that quickly add up. You’ve got to pay the organist, the caterer, the florist, the wedding coordinator, the photographer, the cake decorator, etc, etc, etc. The list just keeps going. The truth is, if you get married at an all-inclusive resort on a tropical island, they’re already set up and ready to accommodate you.
Many resorts have wedding coordinators on site who will work with you to ensure your special day is exactly what you want. They’ll have the flowers arranged and ready. The dinner will be catered by the resort staff. They’ll bake and decorate the cake. The alcohol is even included in one low price.
Today’s couples have friends and family located all around the country. So having enough time to spend with them during the wedding can prove difficult. Instead of just one evening together, a destination wedding can provide you with several days of fun in the sun with your dearest friends and family.
Because all of your expenses are pre-paid, an all-inclusive resort can save you a good chunk of money. Say good bye to fishing money out your wallet for every Pina Colada or burger at the beach. The all-inclusive package you pre-purchase also gives you the freedom to try new things that you’ve always been curious about like windsurfing or kayaking or different types of drinks or exotic foods. Speaking of food, the options can be endless. From buffets to a la carte, you’ll find a vast array of amazing cuisines.
Your Tropical Travelers’ Destination Wedding Specialist will guide you through all of the legalities.
If you choose to have a “Symbolic” wedding ceremony at the destination, you do not have to complete the legal requirements, but you must then have a Legal Ceremony in the United States before or after the destination ceremony.
Many couples direct their invitees to a wedding website, where they post their wedding details and travel agency contact information.
We recommend carrying your special dress on the plane, and not shipping it or checking it, just in case your luggage doesn’t make it to the destination when you do 🙂
Your hotel’s concierge and/or wedding coordinator can help with having your dress steamed/pressed upon arrival.
You can even customize your package to fit your tastes.
You typically will meet with the wedding coordinator and the minister at least once upon arrival to go over all of the details of your wedding day. They can also help arrange rehearsal dinners, or post –wedding lunches.
We look forward to assisting with your special occasion!
